Thursday Art and Dinner Date: Ladders

Thursday Art and Dinner Date Bugs Bunny Ladders

Art Date: This week’s art prompt is Ladders

Welcome to Thursday Art and Dinner Date! This week’s optional art prompt is Ladders! Bugs Bunny is imitating Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast this week. I remember the first time I watched that movie and dreamed of having a huge library like the one in the movie! I always thought those library ladders were so cool. I drew Bugs with markers and I used a royalty-free background that I found on Pixabay. To make the background look painterly, I put it through a blurred oil painting filter in Photoshop.

3D Ladder (Trick Art)

how to draw a 3d trick art ladder step finished artwork with 3D effect

This week I tried drawing some trick art. I love this style of drawing! The 3D ladder is pretty cool as long as you have the right angle of your camera to see the effect. This was so simple to do, why don’t you try it? Here’s the post where I show you how to do it!

The real-time drawing lesson is on my YouTube channel Rain Frances Art, if you’d like to follow along! For a list of my real-time and time-lapsed art lessons, please click this link: Rain Frances Art – Drawing and Painting Lessons.

Dinner Date: Apple Crisp with Oats

how to make apple crisp with oats

For our dinner date, I made comfort food – apple crisp with oats (click on the link for the recipe page). This is melt-in-your-mouth goodness! The apples are so soft and tender and the topping is sweet and crunchy.

Here are the video instructions for the Apple Crisp:

Gotta love Bugs! Did I miss that jump to your recipes last wee? Very cool, since you have recipes I want to try. I been doing very basic cooking while in Honolulu, so I’m looking forward to getting back to my own kitchen. Cute hippo. I am beyond impressed with what you have done on your new website, Rain! Happy weekend!

I love your Bugs today, Rain! Delightful — and the apple crisp looks great!

Happy Thursday Rain

Bugs is so versatile 🙂 He makes a gorgeous Belle. I often borrow a royalty-free background so I appreciate what you have done here. I love 3-D drawing. I will attempt the ladder. It looks deceptively easy which is why I know it will be difficult 😝 I love apple crisp and I love oatmeal, so I know I am going to love them in combination. FH loves it too, so it is a given I will be trying your recipe. We need an update on the pets, right? It has been awhile and I love your pets 🙂 Stay rested and healthy, Rain … you do so much I sometimes worry about you.

Great job with Bugs posing as Belle! When I thought of ladders, the library at Biltmore Estate came to mind. They have ladders such as yours. That’s such an amazing room and perhaps is my favorite out of the 200 in the house. Can you imagine cleaning such a place all by yourself? Of course, the Vanderbilts had a large staff and didn’t have to tend to such things. 🙂

Mmmm, Apple Crisp! I haven’t made this in a long time. This was DH’s favorite dessert as a youngster. His mother made it for him frequently.

Thanks for sharing and hosting the art fun, my dear! xo

Apple crisp!

Beautiful ladder art pieces Rain, very inspiring. The apple crisp looks delicious.

Ohhh your ladder drawings are awesome. I love the first one so much. OK, are you reading my mind? I just took some apple crisp out of the oven. The purple hippo is just too cute. Hugs to your Sis.
